Oops, I Got Burnt Out

Do you ever get so excited about a new project that you go a little overboard? That happened to me this month. I was so immersed in designing new programs and workshops that I neglected some pretty important parts of my life—like rest, relaxation, and downtime. While I was creating offerings to help people find more balance... and I lost mine for a moment. The result? I got sick and was out for about a week. I’m feeling much better now, but it was a humbling reminder to slow down and leave space for rest—even in the midst of inspiration.

Looking forward to a restful May!

Practice at Home:

If finding balance and creating a life that attends to all aspects of your well-being is something that you’re needing in your life right now, the Wellness Wheel can be a helpful tool.

How to use the Wellness Wheel:

Reflect upon each slice of the Wellness Wheel. Rate your level of life satisfaction on a scale of 1-10.

Record the number in the slice and color corresponding to the value for a final visual of your satisfaction in each facet of your life.

  • Where are you most satisfied?

  • Where do you need more attention?

  • What would need to change to feel more satisfied in this area?
